About the conference:
The Himalayan Meet of Astronomers (HMA) taking place from 14th to 15th September 2024, is designed to foster collaboration and research in Astrophysics and Astronomy among Ph.D. students, postdoctoral researchers, and senior astronomers. Following the success of the first meeting in 2023, this event will provide a platform for young researchers to present their work, receive feedback from experts, and build networks that will advance astronomical research in Northern India.

Objectives:

  • To provide a platform for Ph.D. students, postdoctoral or recently joined young faculty researchers to present and discuss their current research projects.
  • To facilitate feedback and guidance from senior astronomers, enhancing the quality and impact of ongoing research.
  • To promote collaboration among young researchers in the field of Astrophysics and Astronomy.
  • To build a network of researchers and institutions focused on advancing astronomical research in the Himalayan region.

The venue of the ‘Himalayan Meet of Astronomers (HMA) - 2024’ is the Conference Hall, Dharamshala Campus of the Central University of Himachal Pradesh.

How to Reach?

  • AIR: Nearest Airport - Dharamshala International Airport, Gaggal (10 km) from the Dharamshala Campus.
  • Rail: Pathankot Cantt (CANTT-PKTC) is the nearest railway station - 60 Km from CUHP Dharamshala Campus.
  • Road: CUHP Dharamshala campus is connected by road to major centers of northern India. Some major road distances from the Institute are: Pathankot - 80 km, Chandigarh - 225 km, Delhi - 525 km.
  • Location on Map: Central University of Himachal Pradesh Dharamshala Campus

The Conference will begin at 09:00 AM on September 14, 2024, and will conclude on September 15, 2024.
